The work by the not-for-profit water company will see a new long sea pipe installed which will improve the performance of the network, especially during stormy weather.

This, in, turn will reduce the risk of flooding and pollution entering Saundersfoot Bay which will help to further improve bathing water quality.

Paris Koronias, Welsh Water’s Capital Delivery Project Manager, said: “At Welsh Water, we understand the importance of good bathing water quality to our customers and to the Welsh tourism economy. We are, therefore, committed to ensuring we play a central role in protecting this valuable resource.

“As a company, our priority is to ensure profits are reinvested both to improve services to customers, and to enhance the local environment – which includes bathing waters and our investment in Saundersfoot reflects this.”
