Learning & Development Associates (L&DA) has launched a new 1-day course to support the reduction and mitigation of pollution incidents in the Water Industry.

As Wastewater Treatment compliance comes under increased scrutiny from Water Industry regulator OFWAT, specialist training provider L&DA has launched a new 1-day course in Pollution Incident Management to provide water companies with an expert-led training opportunity.

Following reports that raw sewage was discharged into English rivers 372,533 times last year, L&DA has already begun to deliver the new 1-day, Level 5 Award in Reduction and Mitigation of Pollution Incidents in the Water Industry to a number of organisations tacking action to demonstrate competence, diffuse pollution and increase resilience.

The Level 5 Award provides Water Managers with a comprehensive understanding of the management of pollution incidents, from the current regulatory framework and sources of pollution to developing a robust pollution risk reduction strategy appropriate to their organisation.

The launch of the Level 5 Award builds upon L&DA’s portfolio of higher-education training opportunities for the Water Industry, and follows several new qualifications launched in recent years by the training provider. These qualifications included the Level 5 Certificate and Award in Developer Services Management, Level 5 Award in Leading Innovation within the Water and Environmental Industries, and Level 5 Certificate in the Management of Adaptation to Climate Change.

Bringing together a group of like-minded senior professionals, who have achieved industry-wide recognition for excellence in our own fields of expertise, L&DA is committed to continuing to serve the expanding learning needs of the industry.
