AUMA Actuators Limited has successfully completed the fast-track delivery and installation of a range of electric actuators at Yorkshire Water’s Calder Vale Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) near Wakefield.

Yorkshire Water’s Calder Vale WwTW serves over 110,00 people living in metropolitan Wakefield in West Yorkshire. AUMA configured, tested, and delivered 20 high performance electric actuators via the company’s fast-track supply service, with actuators arriving on site in just two weeks from order.

AUMA worked closely with project subcontractor Score Europe on the installation part of the upgrade at the Calder Vale treatment works. The new actuators will replace ageing actuators on site.

John Heselwood, Technical Sales Engineer, AUMA Actuators Limited says: “We have an excellent strategic relationship with Score Europe, and this is a great example of AUMA and Score Europe working together at our best. We are committed to fast-track product delivery for our customers. That’s why we hold a comprehensive range of electric actuators and component parts for various applications for call-off from stock – from variable speed to underwater and remote-mounted controls solutions.

“Our European supply chain means replacement actuators, where required, can be on site within five working days and often quicker. In emergency cases, we can deliver actuators within 24 hours. On occasion, we are even able to quote, build, test, and deliver to site on the same day.”

Ian Elliot is Score Europe’s manager for Actuation, Projects, Service. He says: “Working alongside AUMA, Score Europe provided a full mechanical and electrical interface into our design and product selection for the Calder Vale project.

“In addition to AUMA’s exceptionally fast delivery schedule, we found that a clear benefit of using AUMA actuators is that they are very easily integrated into existing and new control systems. The scope of Score Europe’s work included the successful design and installation of 20 AUMA actuators, gearboxes, drive shafts, universal joints, and adaptations.”

A Yorkshire Water spokesperson added: “We’re proud to play our role in making Yorkshire a brilliant place to be. It’s our job to make sure everyone in Yorkshire has the water they need for their busy lives. Once they’ve used it, it’s our job to take it away and work our magic returning it safely back to Yorkshire’s environment. That’s where the work we’re undertaking at Calder Vale fits in.”
