Safeguarding the quality of water for human consumption involves monitoring trace level concentrations of heavy metals, for example arsenic, mercury, and copper. Such measurements have traditionally been performed in the laboratory (mostly due to lack of viable alternatives for field use).

With the 946 Portable VA Analyser from Metrohm there is now such an alternative – you can bring the laboratory to the sample!

A dedicated solution for water analysis, the 946 Portable VA Analyser enables fast and straightforward determination of trace level concentrations of heavy metals in the field with the sensitivity, accuracy, and reproducibility required to monitor the WHO guideline values.

The 946 Portable VA Analyser is battery powered and comes in a handy carrying case complete with measuring stand, accessories, and bottles so you are ready to measure in a matter of minutes! The 946 is straightforward to use with predefined methods allowing you to simply hit start and see results fast.

At the heart of the 946 Portable VA Analyser is the scTRACE Gold. This screen-printed sensor with a gold microwire working electrode provides outstanding sensitivity enabling accurate, reproducible determinations of total arsenic down to the single digit µg/L-range. This is well below the limit values recommended by the WHO. The scTRACE Gold does not require extensive conditioning, it is maintenance-free, and it can be easily exchanged due to smart plug-in design.
