Watertrain continues to expand on their growing success with the introduction of new specialist training for hydraulics, across both clean water and waste water networks.

As the predominant provider of high-quality technical training and qualification programmes to the water utility sector, Watertrain are always seeking new opportunities to develop the skill set of those working in the sector and help employers find effective solutions to training needs.

The hydraulics programmes being launched by Watertrain focus on the understanding of basic hydraulic principles in relation to clean water networks, a fundamental part of the successful operation of water networks. The application of hydraulic principles also has a key impact on increasing asset reliability, which as a result, reduces the likelihood of catastrophic failures and pump leakage.

Water companies can also now engage in a range of new waste water network short courses aimed at increasing the knowledge/competency of relevant personnel. These courses look at the impact of hydraulic principles including their relation to waste water network design and how they assist in understanding the condition of assets in real-time, as well as best practices in waste water network operations and flooding response – consistently highlighted as one of the highest concerns of UK water sector customers.

In addition to these specialist new courses, Watertrain recently became one of the first providers approved to deliver the new Level 4 Certificate in Water Industry Operations and Management. Watertrain was proud to work with CABWI in developing the Level 4 Diploma and this new Level 4 Certificate provides the opportunity to achieve a smaller and more flexible Level 4 qualification for operational and management staff working, or wishing to work, in water industry roles. The programme is ideal for those wanting to undertake a shorter course whilst still gaining a Level 4 qualification.

Watertrain has been the leading provider of qualifications to the water utility sector since 2007 and are experts in the development and delivery of nationally accredited qualifications that have been designed and written following consultation with sector employers to ensure that the resultant qualification is fit for purpose and meets organisational needs.
