Specialist training provider, Watertrain, has won Small Supplier of the Year at the Northumbrian Water Group ‘Going the Extra Mile’ Awards 2024.
Watertrain, the UK’s leading provider of apprenticeships, qualifications and technical training to the water industry, has celebrated winning Small Supplier of the Year 2024 at this year’s Northumbrian Water Group (NWG) ‘Going the Extra Mile’ (GEM) Awards.
The NWG GEM Awards recognise and celebrate the contribution that NWG’s supply partners play in helping them to achieve their vision to be the national leader in the provision of sustainable water and wastewater services.
Attending the awards ceremony alongside Fergie Black and Paul Standing, two of Watertrain’s Learning Development Coaches, Jane Ramsey, Senior Manager for Quality, Learning and Development, said: “Fergie, Paul, and I had a great evening, and we were delighted to collect the award on behalf of Watertrain. We all work so well together, and we really do ‘enable learners to succeed’, so to have this recognition from NWL is lovely.”
Watertrain was nominated for an award in the Small Supplier of the Year category, in recognition of their efforts to improve knowledge and skills in NWG’s workforce through the delivery of their high-quality training programmes.
Paul Standing played an integral role in enabling NWG’s learners to succeed. Following Watertrain’s announcement of their award win, Anthony Benyon, EQA at CABWI, commented: “Well done to all at Watertrain, in particular to Paul Standing for taking the Distribution group to their EPA, they have all said that without your input and interaction they may have struggled to complete. Top job Paul a credit to Watertrain.”
Keri Davies, Managing Director at Watertrain, added: “It is fantastic to be recognised for the high-level of people development and customer service we provide our clients. Congratulations to the whole team who work tirelessly to support our apprentices enabling them to succeed.”
Watertrain is committed to supporting the individual training needs and challenges of every employer and learner they work with. This commitment is amplified by their consistent above average achievement rate, up to 92 percent against the national average of 60 percent.
The training provider, part of the RSK Group, offers a extensive suite of apprenticeships, qualifications and bespoke programmes, to help the water industry to address immediate training needs and longer term staff development.
