Avove wins Contractor of the Year and Best Place to Work honours

Avove, a Tier 1 contractor partnering exclusively with the UK’s critical utilities, has won both Contractor of the Year and Best Place to Work – Contractor, at the New Civil Engineer Awards 2026.

The double success reflects the company’s growth and strong performance. In just four years, Avove has more than doubled in size, expanded its presence across the UK’s water and energy sectors, strengthened long-term client partnerships and continued to invest in its people, culture and capabilities.

Winning Contractor of the Year recognises Avove’s achievement in delivering sustained growth while maintaining high standards of operational performance, project delivery and client service. The award celebrates organisations that have demonstrated excellence across innovation, quality, collaboration and business performance, while building a platform for continued long-term success.

The Best Place to Work – Contractor award acknowledges Avove’s people-first approach and the culture it has built alongside that growth. Through a continued focus on colleague engagement, wellbeing, development and inclusion, the company has demonstrated that business growth and a positive colleague experience can go hand in hand.

Together, the awards recognise Avove’s ability to combine strong commercial and operational performance with a workplace culture that supports, develops and empowers its colleagues.

Mark Perkins, Chief Executive at Avove, said: “Winning Contractor of the Year and Best Place to Work – Contractor is important recognition for our business and our people.

“These awards demonstrate the close connection between strong delivery and a strong culture. The quality of our work is driven by the talent, commitment and expertise of our colleagues, and that enables us to deliver consistently for our clients and the communities they serve. This reflects the progress we have made as a business and the contribution of our brilliant colleagues across Avove, whom I would like to thank for their continued commitment and support.”

The Awards recognise Avove’s approach from early concept through to final commissioning – bringing together innovation, design engineering, ecology and environmental, infrastructure and delivery expertise to create solutions that support communities and protect the environment.
