Watertrain has announced the addition of the Level 4 Asset Manager Apprenticeship to its portfolio – becoming one of the first providers in the UK approved to deliver the new standard.

Watertrain, part of RSK Group’s Binnies Division, and a leading training provider to the Water Industry, is expanding its portfolio of apprenticeships to continue supporting learning needs across the industry and offer new, Levy-funded opportunities for standardised knowledge and skills.

The latest addition to Watertrain’s apprenticeship portfolio is the new Level 4 Asset Manager Apprenticeship Standard. The apprenticeship has been developed by a mix of employers, including Anglian Water, Northumbrian Water, Environment Agency, National Grid and Network Rail, to support individuals across a range of industries who manage physical assets.

The daily activities of Asset Managers, from assessing the performance and condition of assets to identifying intervention and mitigation for asset failure, are imperative to operational success. Knowledge and competence of Asset Managers is even more imperative to those responsible for Critical National Infrastructure such as the Water Industry.

Neil Davies, Director at Watertrain, commented:

“We are thrilled to be the first training providers in the UK to deliver the Level 4 Asset Manager Apprenticeship Standard following its approval by the Institute of Apprenticeships & Technical Education.

The launch of this new apprenticeship has been welcomed by the Water Industry and Watertrain are proud to be able to deliver this new programme as we continue to seek new opportunities to support the learning needs of those who are new to the industry or in need of upskilling.”

Following the addition of the Apprenticeship Standard and growing demand, Watertrain are also seeking those with experience in Asset Management to join their Learning and Development team to support the apprenticeship’s delivery.
